Advantage is an award winning, complete database system providing a variety of client database engines (including a Class 4 JDBC driver) that integrate into existing database applications developed in a wide variety of development languages and platforms including JBuilder and Delphi. In the case of the JDBC driver, no additional libraries are required beyond the Java driver itself in order to connect to Advantage compatible data. Advantage has high performance Full Text Search functionality, triggers, stored procedures, constraints, SQL debugger, and many other RDBMS features you'd expect, along with a very robust file structure that gives is an advantage over monolithic file format database servers. The total cost of ownership is low because of the stability and because there is no need for DBA tasks. The client is thin and the database server is easy to deploy to Windows, Linux and NetWare servers with a light foot-print (less than 8 MB) and "silent" install capability.
