PowerTCP Sockets for .NET 1.0.0 (ID #19996)

Dart Communications

PowerTCP Sockets for .NET enhances socket communications in the .NET Framework by providing components that enable software developers to create client and server applications with fewer lines of code, less research, and minimal time, while still preserving advanced network capability. The Server component can be used to create custom TCP servers or act as the foundation for higher level servers such as an FTP Server or a Web Server. Every connection receives a separate thread for scalable performance, with the component able to accept more than 75 new connections per second. For client-side protocol development, the TCP component enhances native .NET TCP capability with event handling and on-the-fly data parsing. It also utilizes Dart’s AutoReceive technology that reduces code by managing all incoming data. The UDP component enables the easy construction of UDP-based applications with unique asynchronous send/receive functionality, event handling, and socket options available through specialized properties. The DNS component is designed to not only resolve domain addresses, but handle MX-record look-up and to specify a user-defined DNS server. The Ping component not only sends echoes using ICMP, but also provides the option of UDP- and TCP-based connection testing, circumventing well-known ICMP limitations. The Trace component allows for asynchronous Trace Route capability, returning comprehensive packet hop information in seconds. Finally, as the PowerTCP architecture is designed to heavily leverage Streams, developers can use Dart’s own EnhancedStream and PipeStream classes to build their own extended Stream technology. Debugging has been extended beyond run-time testing to a design-time Editor in every component to allow connectivity to be tested without compiling. Properties set in the Editor are recorded directly in the code, and a real-time feedback window gives detailed information about results. More than two dozen tutorials and a comprehensive reference guide with full support for dynamic Help are included with the integrated Help 2.0 documentation.
